Description
Experience Level: Entry
Num. of articles: 1
Words per article: 600
Information for the blog/website: We sell tuition services
Industry: Education
Topic: Students/university
Tone: Instructional/Educational
Outline & Structure: I am looking for a regular writer for an education blog. These blogs are aimed both at parents of children aged 9-18, and students from GCSE to entering university.
I am looking for someone who can produce four blogs per month (1 a week) on a regular basis. We pay £15 per post, and you will be given a title and brief for each post.
It is important that your written English is perfect (as this is to represent a company offering education services!) and you are also able to write in a concise and engaging manner that will appeal to the target audience. Experience of writing for this audience will be a bonus, as we are looking for posts that offer real insight into various topics. For the next few months we are going to be concentrating on post-GCSEs and getting into university.
The first title is "10 university courses you never knew existed". It should be written so that it appeals to everyone from those that are considering what they might do at A-Level (i.e. next terms Year 10's) to those potentially facing clearing this summer (i.e those getting A-Level results). It should be about inspiring those who don't know what they want to do with their lives, i.e. "Have you ever considered becoming a..." and also should create some intrigue. We want it to be highly shareable so it needs to be fun, although each entry on the list should have some real value (i.e. we are not looking for completely ridiculous 'Mikey Mouse' courses, but rather more unusual courses that have real value but you might not have considered before). Each entry should tell people what makes the course so interesting, where you can study it (so please check it is still offered by that university), a link to the course, and suggestions about what you might do with it (i.e. travel the world, meet famous people, change the world, go to space...)
The tone should be light (lighter than the rest of the blog which we will provide a link to) and fun. We are talking to post-exam students who only really care about the summer holidays, so we really need to catch their attention, and make the blog highly shareable.
Please supply an example of your writing to apply.
