Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Course Content Writer with a background in Functional Skills Maths and English (Entry Level to Level 2). The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the UK Functional Skills framework, a flair for creating engaging and accessible educational materials, and some hands-on experience with WordPress for content publishing.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, plan, and create high-quality course content for Functional Skills Maths and English.
Develop lesson plans, worksheets, quizzes, and assessments aligned with awarding body standards (e.g., Open Awards).
Ensure content is clear, accessible, and tailored for diverse learners.
Format and publish content using WordPress, maintaining consistency and SEO best practices.
Collaborate with our team to review and refine materials.
Maintain deadlines and communicate progress regularly.
Requirements:
Proven experience writing or teaching Functional Skills Maths and/or English (Entry Level – Level 2).
Strong knowledge of the UK education system and adult education.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (desirable).
Basic to intermediate experience using WordPress (e.g., uploading content, formatting posts/pages).
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Nice to Have:
Experience with e-learning platforms or course authoring tools (e.g., Moodle, LearnDash).
Knowledge of ESOL learners’ needs.
Teaching qualification (PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, etc.)
