Description
Experience Level: Expert
Num. of articles: 12
Words per article: 350-500
Information for the blog/website: We sell paint
Industry: Business
Topic: Paint / Decor / Specialist Coatings
Tone: Informal/Casual
Outline & Structure: We need to write 12 posts per month for our blog, essentially in a "how-to/guide" fashion. Below are some points that we'd like to adhere to:
• 350-500 words long.
• The intro needs to hook the reader and make them want to read on. . . always start with the most important facts.
• The first few sentences need to include: The “who, what, where, when, why, how”.
• Avoid jargon. Think about the language you use.
• The style should be chatty/friendly but informative and relevant.
• Wherever possible include a picture or graphic to help break up the text.
• Do not make your blogs too salesy.
• Make sure you include links either to other sites or past posts on your own site to increase your clicks and help with your blog’s search engine rankings.
• Reply to any blog comments that need responding to quickly – this provides you with another opportunity to connect with the people reading your work.
• Use social media – Facebook/Twitter/Google+ and anywhere else you can – to tout your posts and make it easier for potential readers to find your blog.
• Update it regularly but be realistic. You know your schedule, so don’t attempt to post something every day if you can’t. Start by posting weekly and increase your posting if you can.
• Make sure all posts are grammatically correct. If you want readers to take you seriously, you have to take your blog seriously and give it the professional quality it deserves.
• Don’t be negative – it’s unwise to air personal grievances publicly. You will go a lot further by being positive and inspirational.
• Keep paragraphs short. Long blocks of text are hard for readers to digest, especially when reading on mobile phones and tablets. Break up your content by using bullet points or sub headings.
• Try some different styles eg. Reviews, How Tos, Q&As, Reviews, Personal Stories even an Infographic
• Remember that human-interest stories are the most popular. Why not have some articles about the people behind the business; staff who have gone that extra mile; customers with an inspirational story, they’re willing to share; any charitable work the business is involved in etc.
You will be required to research the necessary titles provided and write a blog post based on this.
1) New paint tech that could change your work place for the better
2) What type of paint to use on your workroom floor
3) How to clean and rejuvenate a tennis court
4) An architect’s guide to fire protection
5) Anti-slip floor paint: What is it and how does it work?
6) Flooring: Understanding, preventing and correcting moisture in concrete
7) Cladding: How to paint cladding panels
8) Fire protecting structural steelwork
9) Boat maintenance: A guide to cleaning, repairing and updating
10) 5 reasons to paint your metal cladding BRIGHT!
11) Sports field painting tips and tricks to make your life easier
12) How to estimate paint or coating coverage spread rates
If you would like regular work, 12 per month, every month, please apply
