Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Num. of articles: 4/8 a month
Words per article: 300+
Information for the blog/website: Website provider blogging to attract small and local businesses
Industry: Business
Topic: Small Business / Local Business / Online
Tone: Enthusiastic
Outline & Structure: Hi,
We are a small web design company that needs help producing blog and newsletter content of interest to our customers and our potential customers.
The job will be ongoing, so we are only interested in a freelancer that is committed to an ongoing freelance career and can support us as one of their (many) clients.
The job will consist of selecting ideas for blog posts that will be relevant to local and small businesses, we can write technical boring stuff about web design, but that is not what we want, we want interesting subjects, brilliantly crafted enticing titles, and weight / value of content.
You will be required to illustrate each post by selecting a relevant featured image, access will be given to stock image provider with more than 19 millions images.
We would consider up to 2 posts a weeks, in addition, a monthly summary of the posts (title / excerpt) and a little bit more composed into a newsletter that will go to out clients and subscribing non-clients (potential clients).
We would expect the author to be self sufficient with WordPress, managing the posts and release of posts and the composition of the newsletter (also within WordPress) (or be prepared to be trained). We will of course be there to give guidance, but we want someone that can add value, not just write our ideas out.
We would also expect you to promote your posts on our Facebook / Twitter / Google + pages. Additional social media input from your would be an advantage.
As mentioned, you are likely to be a freelance writer and have been freelancing successfully for a while, with a track record and references.
You will have experience and understanding of (and passion for ) the local / small UK business environments and issues just as we do, from local government issues through technology through to latest high street trends.
You will be able to write in perfect British English, ( much better than me of course ). Whilst mindful of costs, we will not be selecting you based on cost, but quality, capability and value add.
We will need to see prior work, and be prepared to undertake a Skype/telephone interview.
Any proposal that doesn't reflect the job above, or if not well written or a boiler-plate will be ignored of course.
Looking forward to finding the right writer.
Extensive research needed: yes
