* KNOWLEDGE HUB WEBSITE FOR INTERNATIONAL CHARITY *
BACKGROUND
Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) with 7 headquarters in Europe, North America and India and 48 country offices in Africa, Asia and Latin America, which carry out health, nutrition, food security, and water, sanitation and hygiene interventions worldwide.
Among other things, Action Against Hunger UK is responsible for providing learning services to the rest of the organisation, enabling our staff in country offices to learn from each other’s work and apply it to their own programmes to constantly improve how we deliver our lifesaving programmes.
One of the ways in which we aim to do this is by ensuring that any information and knowledge that is produced by Action Against Hunger staff in one part of the world is accessible to staff in all other parts of the world.
OVERVIEW
Action Against Hunger UK are looking to build a Knowledge Hub, containing Action Against Hunger documents and other knowledge products in a curated online environment. Its aim is to facilitate access to information and knowledge sharing across the Action Against Hunger network.
As the Knowledge Hub’s main purpose is to share knowledge and information, the storage and display of posts and documents will be a key feature of the site.
The site will need to be available in English, French and Spanish.
AUDIENCE
The Knowledge Hub’s primary audience is Action Against Hunger staff, particularly at the country office level (rather than HQ level). This includes:
staff who are seeking to find a particular document or knowledge product (e.g. 2017 Nutrition Strategy for Nigeria), and
staff who are seeking to find out whether a particular type of document (e.g. a nutrition strategy from the last three years relevant for Africa) exists, and if so, to find and read it.
The Knowledge Hub’s secondary audience is external stakeholders, such as donors, partners and clients. In most cases, these users will access the Knowledge Hub via a direct link.
USER PROFILES
There are four potential user profiles:
User - Needs access to the entire front end. No back-end access.
Restricted admin - Back-end access restricted to certain areas (e.g. research). Can edit pages but not delete them.
Full admin - Back-end access to the whole site. Can add, edit, duplicate and delete pages but cannot shut down the site.
Webmaster - Unrestricted access to the whole site and all functionality.
N.B. Only admin users will have accounts – there will be no front-end login function or user accounts.
For information architecture, key requirements, timeframe, sitemap and screens, please see attached documents.
N.B. I have specified Wordpress as the subcategory for this job as I anticipate the site being built on a WYSIWYG platform like Wordpress. However other proposals are welcome.

WordPress is a bad choice for any serious project. I also recommend a custom solution, as with WP you will run into many issues down the road. If you'd like to discuss such a solution please PM me.

Hello Alice. Let me know if WordPress is a must, or you are conformable using better and newer techniques. I would recommend python, custom coding from scratch, admin panel, way better loading speed rather than WordPress and more secure. Let me know.
