Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: We sell health supplements online
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: I need a quick way of updating the status of an order and sending an email to the customer.
This is what I want:
On the front page of the admin page, I want a new section which will replace the 'Overview section'. It will be called 'Quick Order Update'. It will contain one input field which will be called "order_id", and a submit button. When the page is loaded the cursor will be on this input field.
When an order_id is entered and the submit button is pressed we now go to a new page. It will display the order details (this can be copied and pasted from the order_invoice.tpl page - I just want to show the payment address, shipping address, and products ordered). At the top of this page will be a new input field called 'tracking_number'. The cursor should be on this field. There will be another drop-down field called 'carrier' with these options:
name="Royal Mail" value="https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item?trackNumber="
name="Interparcel" value="http://www.interparcel.com/tracking.php?action=track&trackno="
When the form is submitted, the order history should be updated:
1. The order history should be changed to shipped
2. The comments should be:
Order 'order_id' has been successfully dispatched.
Postage method: 'order_shipping.title'
If form.tracking_number is not empty: You can track your item here: 'form.carrier+form.tracking_number'
3. The customer should be emailed in the same way as if the order had been updated manually (using the customer history tab on the order).
When the email is sent the user should then redirect back to the front page of the admin section.
