Description
Experience Level: Entry
What Is Attending?
Attending is a community growth tool. It is the easiest way to create a free event page that attendees can RSVP to with their social profiles. Organisers then integrate Attending into their existing tools to nurture their community over time.
Over the past 5 years, 6,000 event organisers have organised 26,000 events that have been attended by 200,000 attendees.
What Is The Role?
We are looking for a remote developer who can write in Rails AND React.js who will work with Stef (https://twitter.com/stef) and Tom (https://tomhunt.io/) to implement a product roadmap that will sculpt Attending into the best community growth tool on the Internet.
Attending is a Rails 5 application, that we’re moving towards Rails API + React.js, which is primarily a task around improving the front end user interface. We’re looking for someone primarily with front end Javascript skills who is able to refactor some of our main user interface components using React (Event creation, for instance), and if you also have some Rails experience that is most welcome.
This person will initially work in a freelance capacity with the potential for a full time role in the future as the product and business develops.
The role can be completed from anywhere in the world, though preferably with significant time zone overlap with London, where Stef and Tom are based.
Who Are You?
- You care about amazing online experiences
- You think that the best communities are built around shared experiences
- You love to learn
- You LOVE coding ;)
What’s In It For You?
- Autonomous, flexible working hours
- Can work remotely
- 1-1 work with two experienced entrepreneurs
- Potential for a full time role in the future
To apply, please respond to this post with links to Rails/React.js projects you have previous worked on :)

Hello Tom,
Thank you for invitation.
Please clarify: current rate is fixed? Or possible to grow it up?
Is it full-time or part-time position?
