Hi Sheila,
To be able to provide a proposal for this project, I will need to ask you quite a few questions. Firstly:
What technology does your marketplace use?
What inventory system are you trying to connect to?
What is the expected experience with the API?
What is the issue you are experiencing with the API?
Do you have technical documentation available?
How would you provide access to the existing code?
Do you have development and test environments set up?
Any proposal provided without this information would be a finger in the air and could not possibly be accurate or held to, as this information is needed to define how much effort and time is required.
Thanks
LaurenSheila M.12 Nov 2018Hi Lauren, Thanks for your reply. I need an API link to work between the Onbuy UK marketplace and Channel Grabber so that the stock quantities are managed on Onbuy and the orders from Onbuy come through to my order system on Channel Grabber. I don't know what the systems are as I don't understand the process. There is access to an API link on both sites. It was connected by another developer and working well about a year ago. It then stopped working a few months ago and I have never been able to get it resolved. I have repeatedly asked him to sort it out and he keeps telling me he will need to write more code for it. I just don't have the time to waste on it anymore. The process should allow me to sell the total inventory quantity on each marketplace, keep the stock in Onbuy in sync with the inventory when an order is placed on any marketplace. import orders from Onbuy along with all my other orders. I also need it to add quantities of stock from the inventory when I add new products to Onbuy. It is not doing that and it is not bringing through any of the orders. There are very few as I don't add new stock now. I can't manage my inventory manually over my own site, eBay and Amazon as well as Onbuy so I need Onbuy linked in the same way as the others. They keep telling me lost of people use this link and it works perfectly well for them, I can give you access through my login to Channel Grabber and to Onbuy. You should be able to get assistance with information from their support staff if required. Currently, the Channel Grabber site is not working correctly, this is a daily occurrence and I am very very fed up with them. I have been waiting for over a week for them to resolve problems with my links to Amazon. It is just a round of ongoing issues with them, they make changes and every time they do some other part of the process stops working. This is nothing unusual and basically, if it is not resolved within the next few days I will be going with another system altogether. But as that is much more expensive I would have liked to have one last try at getting Onbuy integrated with CG and actually working properly. I have missed an order this week because the orders are not importing. I have contacted support on both sites many times over this and they never seem to be prepared to do anything to sort it out. All I am told is that I need an IT developer to make the link work. Well, I did that paid for it and it still does not work. So really my patience with the whole process has worn very thin. Kind regards, Sheila
