Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the website: Entertainment recommendations
Description of requirements/features: Movies landing page (PSD to HTML5 web page)
Requirements:
1) responsive design: the page should scale correctly based on window size;
2) code the page from scratch (please avoid importing external CSS style references, as we don't use bootstrap or similar frameworks in the app);
3) must follow web-development current best practices (HTML5 semantic with polyfill for older browsers, CSS3 etc.);
4) must work on: IE 9+, Chrome, FF, Safari, Opera and common mobile browsers: use graceful degradation if/where necessary;
5) can use JavaScript and jQuery 1.9.1/jQM 1.3.1 if appropriate. If necessary feel free to use a jQuery plugin to handle background images without distorting the AR (e.g., backstretch);
6) please use consistent ids and classes across the page (ids/classes should follow the lower-case/dash naming convention (e.g., my-class-name);
7) the titles count and the small product images in the design are supposed to be dynamic, based on results from an API call: it would be nice if the coded page implemented the JavaScript mechanism for that (save for the actual XHR request to the API, which could be stubbed with a hardcoded JSON object containing the image urls).
On this point, please refer to the attached picture:
- The foremost layer (highest z-index value) would contain the text elements ("Real recommendations by people...", "Instant results..." and the titles counter) and relative arrows, and the phone image. These elements (except the titles count) are static and can be composed into a single image if you want.
- The remaining layers would have lower z-index values, and contain div elements which represent product images, loaded as corresponding background images.
8) if you do not have the custom fonts used in PSD, feel free to use web-safe alternatives. If you have those fonts, please embed them with proper font-face CSS rules;
9) point links to href='#' where the destination is unknown.
