Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: Community e-learning platform
Description of requirements/features: We are looking for 1-2 developers to help us with the day-to-day running of an established Drupal-based community learning platform. UK-based developers within reasonable travel distance of London are preferred as we would like to meet occasionally.
The site is running a distribution of Drupal 7 called Opigno, which is targeted at e-learning. It is a community site with a few thousand members, and a fairly advanced deployment of organic groups for permissions handling. We have recently taken the site through a significant period of development to add new features and update the design. It is relatively complex in all but contains relatively little custom module code.
This role is likely to extend to a few hours' work a week and will include:
- bugfixing - occasionally this is urgent and needs fast response times
- answering support questions asked by the project leadership and site administrators
- development of new functionality
- general system maintenance and housekeeping
It is a good project to be able to fit alongside other freelance work that you may have on.
You'll be overseen by the platform team who are experienced Drupal sitebuilders/themers and we will put in some time to bring you up-to-speed with how the platform is currently configured.
You'll need to be able to demonstrate Drupal expertise (any experience in Opigno is particularly beneficial), good theming skills using common frameworks (we are using a Bootstrap subtheme with Less), some module development capability, and good communication skills. If you are interested, please send a copy of your CV and an overview of your skills and experience, your rates, as well as what kind of weekly availability you may have alongside your other work commitments - we would then like to meet with suitable candidates for an informal conversation and to give you more insight into how the platform is built.
