Description
I’m looking for a reliable video editor to edit pop culture commentary videos for mainly YouTube. The videos are, primarily, talking-head style and long form. Short form clips (sourced from the long form videos) may be requested as well.
I’ll provide:
Raw video footage (usually 1–5 mins)
Rough brief or script I was working with
Sources I'm getting my information from (Think news articles, photos, etc)
You’ll handle:
Editing it all into engaging long form videos (5 - 15 minutes)
Background music, transitions, and displaying source material
Optional: Thumbnail creation and strong titles
Edit turn around must be 0 - 2 days. Due to the nature of pop culture content, the "topic of the time" can change quickly as I'm sure you understand. I’ll be making anywhere from 3–10 videos per week.
Application Process:
I will provide raw footage, "rough" script, and "rough" scaffolding with the sources for what I say in the video, then you will:
Edit the first 60 seconds of the video in your style. The opening should be a "Coming up..." style hook, and then proceed into the video like normal

Are you aiming for a specific editing style or channel tone e.g., sarcastic, analytical, documentary-style?
Will you need any visual branding (like intro/outro animations or channel watermark?
How do you currently promote the videos should the shorts tie into this for reach?
Will there be occasional batch edits or is it purely as-you-go?
Are there existing YouTube channels you want to emulate for editing style?

Hey Niko,
Could you please address some of my concerns regarding the project so that I can deliver exactly what you are looking for:
- For the “Coming up…” hook section, are you open to testing different formats — e.g. teaser montage vs voiceover highlights vs meme-flash hooks — to optimize for audience retention?
- Are there any creators you admire whose editing style or structure you'd like to loosely mirror?
- With the 0–2 day deadline, would you prefer we work off a shared content calendar or go video-by-video based on what’s trending that day?
- Do you want the editing tone to lean more humorous/sarcastic, serious/informative, or commentary-meets-meme (e.g. similar to Tea Spill, Internet Historian, or Jarvis Johnson)?
- For short-form content, are you looking for direct clips from the long video, or would you like those recut with platform-native elements (e.g. subtitles, sound effects, meme inserts)?
- Do you have any brand colors, fonts, or lower-thirds templates already established, or would I be creating a fresh visual identity for the channel?
- Would you like dynamic captions or on-screen emphasis added for punchlines, quotes, or key moments for viewer retention?
- What’s the biggest outcome you’re hoping this editing partnership delivers — faster content, higher retention, channel growth, or creative synergy?
Thank You!
