Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: From one day upwards...
I need an experienced image editor used to handling high volume shoots and methodically processing them in terms of both content and technically.
A shoot of, say 500 images (of wildlife, landscapes, lifestyle) would need to be assessed at a high-level, using LR or Bridge to mark images with stars as 'soft focus, missed moment, inferior sister image from sequence, colour edited and ok, colour edited and needs retouch'.
Using LR or ACR, the 4* and 5* images would then be carefully and individually colour corrected (non-destructively) with a modern, skilled but not over-the-top manner. The .xmp files would then be emailed back with the *s indicating the rejects, ones which are good to go and the ones which need a manual retouch.
Essentially, a full photographic workflow after the shoot stage is required, bar the retouching. There is no '% of shoot needs to be rejected' target - it's subjective.
We're looking for someone with not just technical skills, but an appreciation of modern photography, the industry and a passion for the subject.
There would be potential, if your skills include photography-industry keywording, to add this to the job. Same story for retouching but the standards required are VERY high.
The pace of work would need to be 30 images/hr for LR/ACR colour correction (1 per 2 mins) and 60 images/hr for culling (1 per min to account for having to run over the sets multiple times to get a feel for the standard of the images and what level to cull at). This is based on my own editing pace and those of others I have worked with.
Thanks! If I find someone I'm happy with, it could become a long-term part-time job. Oh, and generic proposals will be instantly declined!
