Cleaning up and re-touching

I have a photograph of a piece of machinery in a workshop.

This photo will be presented in a frame as a leaving gift, so I want the photo cleaning up. The emphasis will be on the piece of machinery.

The workshop is a messy dirty place and ideally I would like a clean background. Basically, the piece of machinery has to stand out and be lighted nicely.
