Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We need our customers to specify the length and number required of cut steel items on our website.
Rather than selling items in quantities of 1,2,3 etc we sell in decimal quantities 0.5m, 1.23m, 1.25sq mtr
I've purchased the woocommerce measurement price calculator to give the correct prices as per customers input thinking this would work, however, it adds the required information to our cart, and inserts a note with the required lengths and quantity. As far as the customer is concerned, they're able to checkout happily, but a problem arises when our inventory package imports the order.
If we price an item at £10 per metre and the customer orders 3 pieces at 0.25 metre they will be charged 3 x £2.50 (£7.50+vat). Our inventory package imports the quantity, the price and the item name and matches it to our stock. So it believes we are selling 3 metres of specified item for £7.50.
So, we need the customer to input the length and quantity they require, which calculates the overall length required. This overall length needs to be forwarded to the cart and therefore picked up by our inventory package.
I have tried with a few custom calculators but am struggling. I have no experience of html or coding, so I would like some help if possible?
I understand that this is a wordy description, please feel free to reach out for further info.
