Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
Development of templated pages;
Optimised to work as responsive pages able to meet the requirements of both desktop and mobile devices, the website will maintain a consistency of quality and will ensure that each and every page has a consistent and efficient layout dependent upon content required.
Development of backend database system:
Each page will draw its content from the mysql database providing flexible growth of the site as required. Individual areas and pages can be developed and will include a 'switched on or off' facility.
Full Content Management System (CMS);
An easy to use CMS allowing amendments to mysql data. (Not phpMyAdmin).
Design of site;
The aim is to encourage visitors to look through the clients’ portfolio of services, their past work and expertise. Site design to include both imagery supplied and stock photos to help achieve a rich, quality feel.
SEO;
Initial setting up of site to optimise for Search Engine.
Concise presentation of services:
A database of all services allowing for multiple fields for descriptions, imagery and external as well as internal links as required to ensure that each service can be presented to the potential client. Technical specifications and links to external Word/PDF documents and images etc can be stored in the database.
Work:
An area to showcase recent and archived projects. Again, each will have its’ own entry in the database so that it can be amended and added to as required. Ability to add imagery and video; for example timelapse photography of a build or design process.
Testimonials/Awards
The database will allow for addition of these sorts of items for display on the site and is different to the next item, Site pages, in that they can be organised and displayed in such a manner that they are constantly revolving.
Site pages;
Effectively there needs to be no real limit to the number of pages for the site as they will be created and managed using the CMS. Example pages would be Meet the team, About Us, Careers etc
Twitter, Linked In – and other online networking;
Integration with online networking accounts such as Twitter and Linked In can be included within the design so that live feeds can be placed on the sites.
Blog and News;
Keeping a website updated and current is important for SEO. A simple blog area that can be updated as required via the CMS and can be searchable.
Data capture;
Subscribers sign up.
Videos/3D presentations;
The client has some video packets for certain services. These need to be integrated into the site on the relevant pages and we need to ensure that the proposed templates will accommodate this facility - with the ability to add more video packets as they are created.
Client Login;
A log in will be provided to clients to allow them to access downloadable documents. Their current project could have all the necessary documentation for them to retrieve as and when required rather than approaching you to re-send. This area could be extended to include many other features at a later date including easy communication with existing clients, promotional artworks, invitations to events, and new service launches. eg. Documents that are too big to email.
Recording of information;
All points of interaction with the visitor to the site will be recorded in the database as well as communicated via email.
Statistical Tracking;
Required coding for Google Analytics would be placed on every page so that comprehensive visitor and search engine placement reporting can be accessed.
