Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: We're looking for people that know CSS and HTML very well to transfer designs, usually in Photoshop format, into CSS, with images, that works in our CMS.
Description of requirements/features: You will need to be very technical, be able to work within our well established development metrics, with very good attention to detail to make the designs look polished and professional, as close as possible to the design from the designer, working for all popular browsers, including IE 8 onwards.
However, you must be able to make amendments to a design, as often changes are only requested from the customer after the design is in a browser. Also, we usually get 2 pages from the designers, the home page and a generic inner page, however there are other pages that would need a few touches to be in keeping with the supplied design. Therefore some graphic design experience would be advantageous, as well have having a degree of initiative and desire to make the user experience as good a possible.
The pages are to be responsive, using Twitter Bootstrap, and so you should have a bit of design skill in order to make the collapsed menu in keeping with the design, and make a few small alterations to the design at tablet and mobile widths to keep the site looking good.
Having implemented over 300 website designs we have a good understanding that 16 hours is sufficient time to translate the design, share it with us and accommodate minor changes / feedback from the client. We will provide you with a list of quality checks that we and our clients will validate the website against. You will be expected to communicate well and update on progress regularly with our team based in the UK.
Our HTML is of a fairly fixed structure, and the CSS you produce will have to work with the HTML that we output for our content: with some exceptions for header and footer, you won't be writing HTML templates. However, we've managed to create a variety of styles with this system, and could extend it in parts in order to achieve the specified design.
We have a strong pipeline of work so if we're pleased with the quality of your work, you would be in good stead for further projects with us.
