Description
I'm looking for someone to help me build a website, but before you apply, please read everything properly.
I have the idea of what I want, but I'm not a web developer, so I'm also looking for someone who can guide me instead of just building whatever I ask for.
The website will have a membership area where users can create an account, log in and access their own dashboard.
One of the main things I need is an invoicing system. Members should be able to receive invoices, view them inside their account and pay them online. If for any reason work hasn't been completed properly or an issue needs to be resolved, I also want the option from the admin side to cancel or void an invoice when appropriate. If you have a better way of handling this process, I'm happy to hear your suggestions.
I don't know whether this should be built in WordPress, Laravel, a custom platform or something else, so please don't assume a platform. I want you to recommend what you honestly think is best for this type of website and explain why.
The same goes for the CRM. I don't know which CRM would work best for this project, so I'd like you to recommend one. Please explain why you're recommending it, how it would work with the website and whether there are any ongoing costs I should know about.
The website should look modern, professional and work perfectly on desktop, tablet and mobile devices. It also needs to be secure, fast and easy for me to manage once it's finished.
If you've done something similar before, I'd really like to see examples of your previous work.
When you send your proposal, please don't send me a copy-and-paste response or something obviously written by AI. I receive a lot of those, and they don't tell me anything about your experience.
Instead, please tell me:
* What platform you would build this on and why.
* Which CRM you would recommend and why.
* How you would build the invoicing system.
* How long you think the project would take.
* How you would break the work into milestones.
* Whether you've built anything similar before.
* Anything you think I may have overlooked that would make the website better.
I'm not just looking for the cheapest quote. I'd rather work with someone who understands the project, communicates well and can offer advice throughout the build.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

-

Do you want to build this portal using memberstack and webflow.
-

1. Platform: I’d build it in Laravel for better security, custom dashboards, invoicing logic, and scalability.
2. CRM: I’d recommend Zoho CRM because it is flexible, affordable, and easy to integrate.
3. Invoicing: Users can view, download, and pay invoices, while admins can create, cancel, or void them.
4. Timeline: Estimated timeline is 4–7 weeks, depending on final features.
5. Milestones: Planning, design, dashboard, invoicing, CRM/payment integration, testing, and launch.
6. Experience: Yes, I have worked on membership portals, dashboards, and payment systems.
7. Suggestions: Add reminders, invoice history, admin roles, activity logs, backups, and security monitoring. -

Clarification Questions:
• What type of business will the membership platform support?
• Should invoices be generated automatically, manually, or both?
• Will there be multiple membership plans or subscription tiers?
• Would you prefer a built-in CRM or integration with HubSpot/Pipedrive?
• Will members need to upload documents or communicate with administrators through the portal?
-

Are you planning for this portal to grow over time, or is this initial scope limited to membership and invoicing?
-

~Do you expect the membership system to support different user roles or subscription plans (e.g., standard, premium, business), or will all members have the same level of access initially?
~Should the invoicing system integrate with an external accounting platform such as Xero or QuickBooks, or do you prefer it to remain a standalone invoicing solution within the website?
~Are there any future features you're already considering—such as support ticketing, document uploads, messaging, or appointment booking—that we should account for when designing the system architecture?
