Description
Experience Level: Entry
General information for the website: Online record management for the waste collection industry
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: We are currently searching for an experience Django/Python web developer to assist myself (Dean) the lead developer on an ongoing basis. Our current project is an online record management system for the waste industry.
The tasks themselves will be suitable to a junior-level developer as they are mostly implementing small features, fixing bugs and generally building around the existing site.
About the site:
The website uses Django 1.10 with Python 2.7 with a Postgresql database. We use Materialize CSS for the frontend. It is not overly complex and uses the framework's features heavily such as generic class-based views, django user-auth system and several popular libraries. The main function is to simply allow users to create and store records (similar to invoices) online.
Skills Required:
- Experience with Django and Python
- Unit testing
- Experience with Git
- Experience with Pip
- Basic HTML, CSS and JS/jQuery
This is an ongoing project with a commitment of around 10 hours per week. The nature of the work is nothing too complex and should be achievable for anyone with some development experience in Django.
An example weeks worth of work might look like the following:
-> Use Django generic views to implement an Edit, Update and Delete view for an existing model.
-> Change a model to have extra fields and update any forms, tests etc...
-> Write a unit test for an existing view
-> Update the company homepage with provided content
-> One small feature (eg. When use clicks 'set as default', it sets 'foo' as their default instead of 'bar'
In your proposal, please include an estimated quote for the workload above including hourly rate.
We aim to be good clients. That includes a commitment to pay your invoices on time and try our best to provide detailed descriptions in job tasks. Our goal here is to find a freelancer with whom we can have an ongoing, productive partnership.
Kind Regards,
Dean
(Lead Developer)
Specific technologies required: Django, python, git

Thanks for the invite, Gary. Just want to clarify: The €12 per hour is not the actual rate, is it?
