Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Not sure
We are seeking an experienced developer to develop a custom WordPress plugin to extend the functionality of WordPress to meet our client’s project’s needs.
Our client provides a discount card service for local businesses within our local area. Currently, members all have a membership card containing a unique “membership number” along with an “expiry date”. Our client is wanting a way that users can login to the site however no email or user data exists currently so ideally, we would like people to register for an account which checks if their card is active.
We are seeking a developer to add the following functionality for us:
• A custom backend dashboard page which allows the adding of cards. Fields need to include “Membership Number” and “Expiry Date”. The additional ability to add membership numbers/expiry date in bulk would be great as well such as card numbers between 2000 – 2500 expiring on the 20th Jan 2020 etc.
• The above data would need to be stored within the sites database for use within the site. Along with the ability to easily Add/Edit & Delete records if required.
• The default frontend WordPress registration form would need the addition of a membership number field added.
• When a user registers using email, password, and card number it needs to check the data above and assign that card number to that new login/email. For example, if that card is valid and not previously assigned it assigns it to them.
• Once registered the user should have its permission upgraded to “member” this way we can then display our content dynamically if they are logged in or not.
• When the card expires it needs to downgrade or remove their access level so they cannot access the user level content “member”.
• 1 membership number can only be assigned to 1 user/email.
Ideally we would like this in a plugin format to allow us to perform Wordpress and theme updates without interference.
I welcome any questions or should you require any further explanation.
