Complete site redesign and relaunch - online poker

General information for the website: The site provides news, strategy articles and reviews of poker websites.
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: We want to redevelop a 3-year old site that is currently live but dormant. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of beautiful, smart and responsive websites. Even more ideal would be previous experience in poker/casino affiliate site design.

Aside from the homepage, contact us page, news page template, article page template and review page template, the site contains several tables listing places to play poker online. These tables need redesigning, and an interface put in place to allow our freelance writers to update their content without any html skills.

What are your business goals?
Provide a comprehensive resource of the best places to play poker online.

Provide in-depth articles and news covering the world of poker and its strategies.

Generate revenue via user referrals to affiliate programmes.

The site currently provides (really out of date) news, strategy guides, and reviews of places to play poker onlline.

It needs a total revamp so it can become a hub for recommended online poker providers.

The most important user experience to get right will be the one that lets the person read an in-depth, trusted review and then seamlessly passes them on to the poker provider's website to sign up.

How do you want to be perceived by your market?
Trusted, accurate, memorable.

Who is your ideal customer?
There are consumers of the information the site provides, who read the articles and reviews, plus there are the online poker sites, who pay a bounty for acquiring users which the site will send.

Online poker players skew strongly male, in the 25-45 age group.

Why do you wish to have a new website or redesign?
The current site feels like a blog that grew out of control

The information is not attractively or logically presented, with important sections like the table of online poker site providers quite hidden.

Its design and layout are not beautiful, or particularly useful to the visitor.

We also hope the new site will have much greater prominence in search engines.

What must the design achieve?
We want to reassure users that this is a trusted source of online information. I want them to be able to see, wherever they are on the site, how to get anywhere else on the site. Nothing should be buried, confusing, or repeated.

We want to provide the most seamless and reassuring way to get people to visit one of the external online poker sites.
What do you want the web site to do for your company?
Its ultimate goal is to send people to recommended providers of online poker.

It will also provide news and articles, written by experts in the field.

What image do you wish to portray?
Professional, beautiful, smart.

Do you have any firm dislikes in terms of colours and appearance?
I dislike sites that appear cluttered or crowded.

Will you be supplying content and images for the site?
Content is already live, though I have writers creating new articles. I believe the current images are mostly stock images and can be replaced.

The ability for me/writers to post copy and images to the site without any prior knowledge of HTML, coding, or even wordpress. It must be possible to create the content once and have it deploy across the site.

They are already quite clumsily integrated, appearing in various places as a floating box.

At the least I would like new site content to also post on social media accounts.

CMS and Admin requirements: The site is built in Wordpress.

We'd like an interface that allows our freelance writers to edit the content even if they have no previous coding or HTML experience.
Extra notes: The job requires somebody with good design sensibility. The site already exists in a wordpress template, so this is not just a matter of porting everything into another - we want to work with somebody who understands content flow, user experience and design aesthetics.
