Description
I’m looking for a quote and guidance on building a new website and community platform.
This is a start-up focused on support services, centred around peer-to-peer support, with a commercial model developing into paid services.
The MVP (required from day 1) must include:
• Course reselling (LMS integration)
• In-house social network/community
• Podcast integration (RSS feed with embedded player)
• Webinars (live and/or recorded capability)
What I’m looking for:
• Migration/rebuild of an existing Wix site onto WordPress (or a better-suited platform if recommended)
• Setup and connection of my domain, including branded email setup
• Implementation of a community/social network (BuddyBoss, FluentCommunity or similar – open to recommendations)
• LMS integration for selling or hosting courses.
• Podcast RSS integration so episodes can be played directly on the site
• Webinar capability (either native or integrated with a third-party platform)
Admin requirements (important):
I need a simple, user-friendly system;
• Publish and manage articles/blog content
• Update landing page sections (especially a “What’s New” type feed)
• Manage and moderate the community
Key requirement:
The platform must be easy for me to self-manage day-to-day without ongoing developer reliance.
I’m looking for:
Cost for initial MVP build
Estimated timeline
Recommended platform/tech stack (particularly for community)
Ongoing support options (hourly/day rate)
The priority is to launch a clean, functional MVP quickly, but with the correct foundations to scale.

Hi Russ,
For the MVP, do you plan to host and sell your own courses directly on the platform, or primarily resell and embed courses from external providers (e.g., via integrations with tools like LearnDash or Teachable)?
Thanks

is WordPress a must have?

Hi, thanks for the detailed brief. To recommend the best platform and MVP approach, could you clarify: whether you prefer an all-in-one WordPress setup (e.g., BuddyBoss + LMS + plugins) or are open to a hybrid solution with external tools for webinars and courses, the expected number of users/community activity at launch, whether you already have course content and podcast RSS ready, and how you’d like payments/subscriptions to work from day one?
