We require a written specification for integrating a payroll application that we are building for use with Xero accounting software.
Note that we just need to write the specification at this stage, nothing more than that. The purpose of the specification is to provide instructions to the developer of the system as to how to carry out the Xero integration.
The specification should refer to what commands should be used, what actions they cause and you should advise us what is possible and what is not possible.
You should also provide samples of what code is to be incorporated ready for integration into our website.

Our application is called PayCloud.

To summarise the functions of the integration:

• Upon initiation of the Xero link PayCloud is to obtain a list of categories from Xero
• User can request PayCloud to update the list of categories
• PayCloud to prompt user to match materials, labour, tax holding account, & CIS deductions to corresponding categories in Xero.

• When a relationship is formed between a contractor and a subcontractor then PayCloud to instruct Xero to create a new supplier contact.

• When a subcontractor is marked as being paid post invoice to Xero marked as paid. Transaction may include VAT, tax deductions, materials, and labour. Each element is itemised and must be posted to different corresponding accounts. Tax deductions are posted to a nominal holding account.

• When a monthly return is marked as paid in PayCloud then Paycloud will instruct Xero to transfer the sum of that month’s deductions from the nominal account to a CIS deductions account.
