WordPress Third Party Data Feed Connection

I need an experienced WordPress PHP developer to check an existing code set up that should query a third party data feed at specified times per day.

The third-party data feed is a motor factors software supplier in the UK and they have a very strict usage policy, the current code seems to be calling thousands of times when the limit is 4 per day.

You will need to be able to test the code independently of the end data feed connection.

At the moment we have a PHP function that is polling the data feed and creating an XML file then we are using WP ALL IMPORT plugin to create and populate a custom post type with new and used motorcycles.

It is important that the images are only downloaded once and that on subsequent runs this should be set up so that images are only downloaded for any new inventory and not existing inventory. Also, any missing inventory should be deleted entirely from the site including imagery.

The plugins used in the current version are WP All Import, Beaver Builder and Advanced custom fields so applicants should already be somewhat familiar with these plugins.

I can provide a development site with sftp access.
