Description
Experience Level: Expert
The client company preserves and restores old buildings. We specialise in dry and wet rot eradication, fixing rising damp, water proofing.
We require a new website created in PHP/MySQL with jQuery/CSS. There needs to be a fairly simple CMS for the front end "public" pages and then a secure area to track the management of the jobs that the client takes on.
As an example we need MySQL tables created to store the following:
Customers
Employees
Architects
Jobs - timeline
Jobs - materials used
Jobs - invoice tracking
etc.
The system will also have internal email and SMS (text services). Existing code from a similar project can be provided if required.
There will be some simple reports required:
Number of jobs, who's looking after which job, job timelines/milestones, invoice tracking etc.
The system will use a configuration file that contains all the user/customer data (this system will be used again for other installations). Through the proper use of CSS/divs and external include files we will separate all code from content at all times.
Closing Date:
Friday 5:00pm
Time Frame:
2 weeks development time
We will provide assistance through our IT Project manager who will be available throughout the project to clarify all issues and outline the project in more detail with the successful candidate.
Communication:
Skype Chat
Work Hours:
Standard hours - Monday - Friday 9:00 - 5:00.
Price:
$500.00 with a review after 2 weeks - we will have full user testing at that time. Additional funds for any agreed additional work will be supplied if necessary.
Applicants:
Must have PHP, MySQL, jQuery and CSS skills.
Must have some sort of portfolio to demonstrate skills.
VERY good command of written English - mandatory. If I have to start explaining everything in baby talk then it's not going to work :)
A little bit of innovation is very desirable. If I point out issues, I'd like to hear proper solutions rather than simply blindly following what I might outline. No issue with people who challenge the way I wish to do things.
Additional Information:
Not a major fan of OOP - prefer function based/procedural systems. This is a small system I think frameworks are probably overkill. Can be convinced otherwise but need a good argument to go down that route. Would like to have templates for the content controlled by CSS - this allows for support staff to amend content/layout but not mess around with the core functionality.
If this project works well, there are several more in the pipeline. Successful candidate will get first refusal of additional work if it arises.
