Description
The website currently has 3 sections:
1. The first shows the explanations that we discussed in our previous live meeting, so that the students can review what we discussed. At the bottom of each explanation in the website, the student clicks a Next button after review, and that records the date/time of that click.
2. The second section is questions for the students to answer, which are of 2 types. One type is new questions that the student hasn’t seen previously and the other type is questions the student has tried to answer but has not yet answered correctly. Currently, those previously missed questions reappear 7 days after the student clicked the Next button in the first section. All the questions are presented in order of difficulty as indicated in a table on the website.
3. The third section, called Review on the menu bar, will pull up explanations to questions that the student has answered correctly.
The changes to the current site will be as follows:
1. The first section will be disabled.
2. The second section will be modified as follows:
a. The student will be able to select which category of question types to work on from a list of 6 types as indicated in the Category field of the Questions table.
b. The questions will consist of new ones that the student hasn’t yet answered, and previously missed ones. The previously missed questions will be presented 7 days after the student answered it the last time.
c. Questions will be presented such that, when a student correctly answers a question, the next one presented in that category will be 4 points more difficult as indicated in the Question Levels table, and when a student incorrectly answers a question, the next one presented in that category will be 5 points less difficult as indicated in the same table.
d. When a student answers a question incorrectly, the student will immediately see the explanation for that question. The format of the explanations in this second section are the same as in the first (disabled) section.
e. When the student sees an explanation, whether in the second or third section, the student will see a button to initiate a question to be submitted to ChatGPT for clarification about the current explanation. The GPT prompt will include the question, the explanation, any graphic file presented in the explanation, and the student’s question. This will be done through an API to a model that enables graphic files to be uploaded and understood.

HI William,
Wanted to understand, if you budget is fixed or it's just a placeholder?
Best Regards, -
Hi William,
Thank you for sharing the details of the planned updates for insightprep.net. I appreciate the clear breakdown of the changes and the overall workflow. Before proceeding with development, I’d like to clarify a few aspects to ensure that the implementation fully aligns with your vision.
Question Categories Selection:
Should students be able to work on multiple categories simultaneously, or will they select only one at a time?
Will there be any restrictions on category selection (e.g., only unlocked categories based on progress)?
Question Difficulty Progression:
The progression logic suggests that a correct answer moves the difficulty up by 4 points and an incorrect answer moves it down by 5. Should the system prevent difficulty from dropping below a certain level, or is there no lower limit?
How should the system handle cases where no higher or lower difficulty questions are available?
ChatGPT Integration for Explanations:
Would you like to store the student’s questions and ChatGPT’s responses for review later, or will it be a real-time interaction without historical tracking?
Should there be any pre-set instructions for ChatGPT to tailor responses to a specific tone or level of detail?
Graphics in Explanations:
You mentioned that the API should support graphic files in explanations. Will these graphics be static images, or do you foresee interactive elements (e.g., diagrams students can manipulate)?
Technical Integration:
Are there any existing design or UI preferences you would like the updated website to follow?
Should the system log and track how often students use ChatGPT for clarification?
Once I have your insights on these points, I’ll be able to finalize the development approach and ensure it meets your needs effectively. Looking forward to your feedback!
Best regards,
James -
Would you be open to discussing a dynamic budget option or a per-hour model to better align with the project requirements? Also, what is your preferred timeline for completion?
