C# .NET Courier Integration with Warehouse Management System

We are looking for a developer that can take an existing open source application (OpenDespatch: https://opendespatch.codeplex.com/) responsible for handling communication between a warehouse management system and third-party carriers (such as Royal Mail and DPD), and extend it to integrate with additional carriers as required by the business.

The task is to:
Work with the business to understand with which carriers we need to integrate

Research the requirements of the chosen carriers to understand what is required in order to integrate with them

Develop new plugins against the existing open source platform for each of the chosen carriers where an integration does not already exist, implementing business-specific logic where necessary

Maintain the existing plugins and, if necessary, the core open source platform

Develop any necessary peripheral files required by specific integration (e.g. template files, country lookup files, etc.)

Document the changes and new developments made to the plugins and core platform

The end goal will be to allow the business to provide a wider range of delivery options for their eCommerce customers in order to improve customer satisfaction. This is a critical part of the business that requires careful consideration of the possible scenarios and attention to detail to ensure that the delivered solution is robust, stable, and meets the business’s requirements.

Excellent written communication skills to be able to clearly document the development work
