Description
Experience Level: Expert
I'm needing an app that will function as an on-device User Manual on a small Android phone. This is Android 8.1 and can be built as any other standard Android Kotlin app. Do note that the device does not, however, have Google Services installed.
The app will have a very simple UI and will do the following:
- Contain an internal folder structure containing "topics", with one topic per folder. For example, some topic/folders might be Contacts, Messaging, etc.
- If needed, we can include a manifest file of some type within each topic folder defining the topic name, title, etc. Alternately, there may be other ways to define the topics available within the app.
- Each topic folder will contain one or more html files containing how-to's and guides on that topic. An example of such a folder structure can be downloaded here: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZ4cssVZ8QY83TMpdubGDrNbc4fVGHmSeDA7
- The app will have a menu that displays all available topics and allows them to be opened.
- When a topic is opened, the html for that topic is displayed.
- The app will also be able to be started from other apps which will pass it a topic name along with the intent, and have the html for that topic loaded and displayed without requiring the user to find it in the menu and open it.
