Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the app: App showing how to cook with ingredients which we deliver to the consumer as a meal kit
Kind of development: New app from scratch
Description of every page/module: I need to make an app for cooking instructions.
A couple of things are unique vs what exists on the market.
First, it is for a meal kit delivery service, which means that the ingredients come already chopped, diced, marinated, etc. in about 6 bags per meal. This simplifies the cooking instructions significantly. Secondly, the app needs to be based on project management software (Gantt) and be able to help the cook manage multiple tasks simultaneously. So for example, when the cook starts cooking the rice, he turns a timer on and this task goes into a holding position in e.g. the top left corner of the screen while the next task is started. The rice task then pops out again when the timer goes off. There will be up to 4 tasks running simultaneously. Whenever a task is completely finished (the cook confirms that the rice is cooked), the task disappears. So the main screen always has the main task, and the passive tasks are in a visible holding position in the corner of the screen.
Since this is new, I want to do the following:
- Find someone who has experience in each of the areas needed
- Break the project into phases and do only once phase at a time. This is then invoiced and we decide how to continue
- Step 1 would be a technical brief - more specific than what I wrote above.
- Step 2 could be (depending on your advice), a mock up which is neither beautiful nor elegant. But which tests the functionalites
Description of requirements/features: At least the following elements are required:
- A Gantt project management element which manages the tasks, their dependencies, etc. This could potentially be done separately from the app, and is then just used to define the steps, their order, etc. And then each step is created in the app separately.
- Timers: Several tasks need timers. The timers will have a default timing but the cook must be able to change the timing. When he then checks the progress, he must be able to add a minute or 2 if the dish is not totally finished. Whenever a timer goes off, there must be an alarm somehow on the screen which catches the cook's attention and allows him to click to open up the task and make it active.
- The user interface must have a main screen for the active task and the holding place for the passive tasks.
- The recipe needs to be able to change based on the number of people he is cooking for
- Each task has to be linked to a pot and a location on the stove, and labeled as such. So when passive tasks become active, the cook immediately sees which pot he needs and where it is on the stove.
