Change image Zoom on Magento 2.2.3 website

We would like a developer to help us fix a small issue where when you click on one of the images to the bottom of the page, the main image at the top changes... but as you have scrolled down the page, you can't see that.

Instead we would like the image when clicked to open the image zoom in exactly the same style as when the image at the top f the page is clicked. We don't want it to scroll the page back to the top.

Ideally you will just give us the code to implement, though we do have a staging site we can give you access too.
