Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
The Mlab company has been acquired by the Mongodb company. They require that all mlab databases are to be migrated to Mongodb Atlas before the end of May 2020.
We currently have an application 'Bona Iqiniso' of which the backend is connected to a mlab database.
We have accounts in both mlab and Mongodb Atlas.
The assignment has 2 parts:
1. migrate an existing database from mlab to mongodb Atlas. You also will have to do the necessary setup in mongodb atlas. Apparently migration tools are available in mongodb Atlas and therefore the task should be limited to connection the mlab database to the mongodb Atlas database. The migration tool of Atlas should do the rest.
2. Re-connect the Bona Iqiniso backend (made in Play framework - Java) to the mongodb Atlas database. It is done in one location (a config file) and doesn't have to be tested. We do expect that changes are committed to Github.
