Description
We are a small private tutoring franchise business who, as well as providing tutoring services via our franchisees, also supply the associated materials to franchisees to supplement their tutoring (for both Maths and English).
We'd like to collate the order quantities by subject of the study material orders placed by franchisees with us. Attached is an example of a single file submitted by a franchisee to us for ordering. There are almost 1200 similar files to extract data from. There are 4 different versions of the file; only where additional subjects have been added or taken away during the last year or so have versions changed slightly (I will provide sheet unprotect passwords for the files in due course, but the attached file is already unprotected, fyi).
Note, we are interested in collating the information on the 'Maths' and 'English' tabs only. We need to sum rows 3, 14 and 70 across each subject column (so for Maths, NB / AS1 / AS2 etc etc are all different subjects).
So creating an Access DB of material 'sets' ordered (or perhaps two DB's - one per subject) is the project and ultimate deliverable. Please advise on your availability and a likely timescale for this.

Hi David,
Could you provide a little more detail on the output you are expecting? As I see it it would be a list of the sum of each of the nb, as1 etc for maths, english by franchisee. Something that could potentially fit on one sheet of an Excel document itself? Or is there a dimension here that I have misunderstood. Understand you may want to use access for a UI so I am not suggesting that you shouldnt, just trying to understand the output required.
Kind regards,

Hi David
I understand the requirement to aggregate the Excel data in MS Access.
Would you please clarify the functionality that you require in the MS Access. Is it a lookup facility only or will there be reporting, performance indicators, etc.
Many thanks

Hi David,
I am about to submit a proposal for this project but I noticed a point that could be quite significant. If your files are password protected, is the same password used on each file? If there are different passwords for different files, this could become a lot more complicated.
Kind regards,
Simon.
