Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
General information for the website: Online Reporting
Database management system (DBMS): MySQL
Description of requirements/features: We currently receive POS data from a number of customers via email in different formats and we require an automated server side routine (preferably in Python by PHP could work too).
**** UPDATE: ****
Added SQL Schema for import table and product comparison table.
All Imported data needs to validate product codes (Customer URN) against a table. If found then modify a record in the o_CustomerProduct table to set the o_ProductMatched BIT to true and then upload to the o_CustomerData table, if not found then add a record in the o_CustomerProduct table, set the o_ProductMatched BIT to false and then upload to the o_CustomerData table.
**** END UPDATE ****
Each customer has a static structure so we need a routine per customer that will interrogate folder for new excel files and then parse data to insert to mySQL database. We have shared the excel structure and Database Schema to help with your costings. At the moment we have a python routine that extracts the excel file from the email system and drops into a folder. We require a routine that picks up this file and will then parse and update to mySQL Database.
Extra services needed: Customization, 3rd party integration
Extra notes: MySQL Table structure:
POS Data (from Excel spreadsheet)
1. Date
2. Customer Name
3. Region (Optional)
4. Store Location / number (optional)
5. Facia (optional)
6. Customer Product URN (Unique Reference Number - Mandatory)
7. Sales Units
8. Sales Value
9. On Promotion Y/N (optional)
10. Vat Included Y/N (optional)
There are 12 different formats that we have. We require quote for one (for this set of data). The winning bid will have first bid on the next 12 sets of data.
