Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am looking for an experienced person to capture website data for an industry analysis I am doing. How this is achieved is entirely up to the individual employed although if they are happy to specify their approach then this would work in their favour as I would like someone to use some sort of automated approach rather than a brute force “copy and paste” process ,(which I know from grim experience), is more likely to produce errors in the final sheet.
Task, capturing publicly- available completed cases data from the PMCPA (Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority) website and transferring them to an Excel sheet. Required are all completed cases from 2006 to 2023. This is listed as 1501 cases in total. The final total may not exactly match this as I have noticed that the numbers listed per year do not actually match the summary list but 1505 is a good approximation with a variance of no more than 20 cases either way.
Output, I require a completed excel spreadsheet in the arrangement supplied in the attached file. The fields should be completed as far as the front summary allows and each year must be on a separate sheet. The final file format can be either XLSX or CSV but no macros should be in the file. Additionally, a Power BI Desktop file is required in the standard PBIX format that I can open and work within the Power BI desktop app.
The website address is:
https://www.pmcpa.org.uk/cases/completed-cases/#?cludoquery=*&cludopage=1
Data fields required are in the attached excel spreadsheet but in summary they are:
Status- completed (cases only so this field will be the same for all cases)
Case code
Complainant
Defendant
Summary
Applicable code
Link to full case
Breach Clause(s)
No Breach Clause(s)
Received
Completed
This data is available on the front summary of each case so there is no need to click beyond the list of completed cases. 10 cases are shown on each page but be aware that these appear in a somewhat random order with the list order changing if you leave and re-visit it (you may see a pattern that I do not, and I would be interested to know why this occurs – is it a way of making data capture harder or just bad website design)?
Accuracy as already stated is essential so please make sure that blank spaces at the start of any input are removed.
Timeframe – 1 week from agreed start.
Please reach out and contact me if you require any further information or any clarification.
