Wordpress changes

So this is the theme we have:

And what we want to do is add the 'slider' (highlighted in the image attached) to our blog site.

What we found is that when you go to Pages in the left panel of wordpress, you can then find the page options for the slider when you click on each individual page. But we cannot find the page options for the home page. We have managed to add the slider to 'http://footballindex.news/home/' but we need it added to 'http://footballindex.news'

Also on the /home/ page there is a problem with the middle column beneath the slider as this does not display any content.
