Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
We are planning to launch a sister company which will provide an estimating service to the construction industry. The URL for this project is www.professionalestimates.co.uk and content, images etc. will be done by ourselves.
Unfortunately, due to delays with Elavon providing the online payment details, our usual web developer has been unable to complete our project.
As this project has already been delayed, we require someone to start work immediately and be done as quickly as possible. I aim to make a decision by tomorrow afternoon, after reviewing any applicants. We have had a quotation for this work before from our usual web developer and have therefore included this as the expected budget.
The 'calculator' will give the user the options to select their required services and the totals should be calculated according to the options selected. I've uploaded a sample draft of what we want this 'calculator' option to look like. Once the user has selected their required options, they are able to click 'add to basket' of which each item will be listed separately in the basket stage. We require the facility to edit these items ourselves should we need to in the future (we require as much freedom as possible when it comes to updating the website). The calculator option will need to have images (as shown in the attached draft) which will link to a sample report of what the prospect can expect - we would like it if this is something we could also manage ourselves should we need to change it in future.
Once they have checked out, we require the website to email them an invoice (of which we should be able to customise with logo etc.) and confirmation of order. After checkout we also require them to be redirected to a separate page on our website where they will be presented with a series of questions (all with information already in them, so they just have to change the information if required) and a facility to upload their plans - I have attached a draft spreadsheet of the questions/type of layout we would be looking for on this page; this was initially going to be emailed to the client after they had placed the order but we decided it would be best for them to be taken to this straight after payment to avoid delaying us pricing their estimate. Once they have submitted this information to us, the website will need to email us a copy.
Below is the information from our usual web developer about the work outstanding left to complete;
- Install WooCommerce
- Set up those items as individual products (I did them as completely distinct items & was controlling the 'dependency' of buying one item which is part of another on the 'calculator' page itself)
- Code up a 'calculator' tick-box/toggle page to either add/remove items immediately to the cart (using AJAX) or line them up for sequenced addition to the cart, probably with jQuery
- Buy & install the 'Realex Redirect Payment Gateway' extension & with the Elavon/Realex details set up the cart/checkout page, and when running tests on that also integrate the post-purchase check-list form (building on an existing code base like 'Contact Form 7' is likely the best way to go on that which again would leave you with ability to tweak it in future).
- Customise the WooCommerce email invoice .php file to ensure it matches the needs.
