Description
Experience Level: Expert
The companies website has not been updated for 10 years, and is badly in need of a redesign & Refresh. surprisingly many of our competitors websites still follow the dated layout of : Home Page profile / Services / Projects / Clients / Health & safety etc.
Whilst this is all the information that is required, it needs to be presented in a way that is at least interesting. For Example www.carter.co.uk , www.profileprojects.co.uk, www.cskceilings.co.uk, I find all of these are very similar and frankly quite dull. One or two of our competitors have taken a different approach and the home page is attention grabbing right from the start. www.jandminteriors.co.uk - I like the case studies on the home page. www.bhinteriors.com I like the use of Post it notes & the colour scheme. www.sounessandboyne.co.uk uses full size pictures which is different and unusual. www.overbury.com has a slight sense of fun, but remains professional. www.linearuk.com is strong on its technical content, but is otherwise quite dull. I also like the colour scheme of www.dvmltd.co.uk. PFP's Colour is Dark / Royal Blue, but I do not feel that this works very well on the web. I would like the web site to feature some dark Blue, but I feel it will also need some brighter or contrasting colours to make it interesting.
I would like our new site to feature our Trades (6) & sample case Studies (10 or 12) , a company profile Page, A blog or News page, plus a contact page. I must be able to update the web site myself following delivery, being able to add pages, articles, Text, images & links, and edit or remove existing content.
The aim of the web site is to :
Be a brochure to detail the services offered by PFP
To demonstrate our Technical ability and Professionalism
To provide evidence of the company's track record
The Target Audience for the web site is not the public, it is Construction Main Contractors & Building Project Procurement Clients and Architects etc.
I would also like a restricted access Sub site, which can be accessed by our staff only ( possibly controlled by inputing their staff number & surname - currently held on an excel database) Which would hold Downloadable PDF's of staff policy documents such as Health & Safety Policy / Disciplinary procedure / Staff Handbook ect
