General information for the website: restoring my website hosting
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: i recently asked someone to make a small adjustment to my website and he required me to give him the 'cpanel details' and the 'FTP details' which i could get from the hosting company.
i got on to 123-reg who i understood to be the hosting company and was informed that they had hosted my site until 2015 but didnt do so any more and hadnt retained my site details. if i wanted to re register my site with them i was told i have to reconstruct it completely. i have the domain name until 2020.
i then contacted another hosting site and they also required the same details. i cant believe that with all the technology floating about on servers and clouds this information has been lost.
i dont want to have to reconstruct the site. although it is non profit making i have been developing the site for 8 years and it is the culmination of 50 years of a hobby. im 72 now and have very little technical knowledge.
can anyone help me please
