Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
I have a spreadsheet template , developed in Windows, which I customise for clients to produce financial forecasts. It has a VBA project with macros which are mostly concerned with automating standard Excel functions such as formatting cells, auto-filling and calling custom views. This template has been evolved over the last 8 years, is effective and reliable in Windows, and the majority of the macros work effectively in the latest Mac version of Excel within Office for Mac.
However, there are one or two functions which involve saving files, and therefore refer to directory structure, and this (I believe) causes them to fail.
I need to have these modules amended so the .xlsm file will work on recent Mac OS's. If possible the aspiration is a file which will work in both operating systems, rather than creating a separate Mac template.
It is possible that there are other minor issues relating to Mac functionality of which I am unaware, which may also need resolving.
The most urgent fix is for the 'publish pdf' routine, in which the code :
> from a tick-box form, identifies a series of custom views as individual pages for a required report
> calls these custom views in turn, and pastes them into a new workbook in the right order
> saves this new workbook to pdf, creating a default folder where one does not already exist.
The code for this module is attached for appraisal.
In the first instance I am looking for an estimate of hours to fix this code module, and your hourly rate. Before we proceed I will share the whole VBA project with you, demonstrate the functionality via screen-share, and discuss the requirements in more detail. I will require skype (or similar) calls and screen share as part of the delivery process.
The project is urgent.
Please confirm that you have the relevant experience and skill level to handle this project, and that your spoken english is good.
If this project is successful I would hope to move on to other small fixes as required, and possibly more development.
I will be happy to discuss the project via my Skype contact id : simon.yabadoo. Feel free to contact me if you are suitably qualified and can schedule the work with some urgency.
Thank You.
