Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I need a cell in Excel to do something unusual. Can it be done, I don't know??
I need it to reduce by 10% each week.
Eg someone types a number in the cell eg 80% on Wednesday (say).
For Thursday, Friday.........Monday Tuesday the cell continues to say 80%
BUT when the file is opened on the Wednesday it reduces to 70%. If someone then types 90% in the cell that is fine but the following Wednesday that goes down to 80%
If the cell is not touched then each wednesday it reduces by 10% until it gets to nothing.
The reason for the functionality is that my sales people put the potential of a client they have visited as a percentage 1% - unpromising 100% sure fire sale. I want them to be aware that potential erodes over time unless they do something about it.
I do not know if 10% is the correct amount so I would need to be able to change this.
It would be the icing on the cake if the cell went red when potential declined to 30% or less.
Must work in excel 2003 onwards.
