Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We have an access database with about a dozen tables, a dozen queries, 2 dozen forms, and half a dozen reports. The underlying functionality/link tables etc are all in place. The database has live data in it. The database has been created by someone with intermediate Access programming experience, but they have now run out of time to support the use of the database, and make changes to the database as requested by the users.
We require the services of an experienced Access programmer to come in and complete these changes, using the built in support log function. Attached is the current open support calls on the database to give you a flavour of what's involved/likely to be involved.
The database is for young people going on a summer school so it monitors from application (to join the summer school), through to selection, health and safety, registration, and attendance.
There will be 2 main points of contact for the successful PPH. The first is Pete who programmed the database to date. He will ensure that the PPH is set up, can access the system, and talk through the structure of the database (i.e., he will deal with the geeky/technical/database side of things). Pete will then step back and introduce Van. Van is the lead user of the database and has provided most of the requests to update the database's functions on the support sheet. Van is not a database programmer, but is in effect the main client: what he says needs to be done, needs to be done. The PPH's required skill is to to work out how to do it, then do it to Van's satisfaction.
