Description
It will need to include a combination of text/explanation pages, interactive activities (e.g. the user answers a question and a text box appears with feedback on the answer given), and some relatively simple animation - e.g. balls bouncing around the screen in different ways.
Ideally this would involve a more collaborative approach than might be required for other jobs; my role would be content development while you would do the programming, but my knowledge of programming is limited, so I would hope to get your input on design and functionality issues throughout the project.
If this sounds acceptable to you, I will send you further details. However, the need for a collaborative approach makes it difficult to accurately predict the number of hours required. (E.g. If you think that particular section of the app should be done differently, suggesting/explaining an alternative will take time over and above the time required for programming that particular section.) This why I would suggest that we use your hourly rate for the hours required, rather than specifying a price for the whole job.
I hope that this project will be of interest to you and look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Rachael

Rachael, do you have a rough storyboard for the app? It's important to have a scope and an idea of what this app involves because hourly or not you will need to fund it to completion.
Rachael M.17 Jan 2019Yes, I do have a rough storyboard. While I prefer not to post this publicly, all relevant information will of course be shared with the freelancer before agreeing a price, and any work commissioned will be fully funded. Also, it may be worth explaining that this job will not involve completion of the app; it is part of a larger project, which means that the scope of the job will depend (to some extent) on the rate, expertise and preferences of the freelancer. For example, if the best person for the job is charging more than expected, I may restrict the scope of the job to include only the most complex parts and do the simpler parts myself. In short, I do have a rough storyboard and the funding is already in place, but the exact deliverables and price for this specific job are subject to negotiation with the right freelancer.
