I had an iOS app done by James and I’m very pleased to say that James has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Below are some of my thoughts after working with him.
Communication-
James has been one of the most responsive people I've ever worked with. I often got a reply back from him within hour if not within minutes (mostly). Right from the start he kept me in the loop on how the project was progressing. He wouldn't wait for me to ask but proactively provided daily and weekly roundups and broke things down on how and what he'll be working on next week, which was great. We followed the agile methodology during the project which worked great in terms of feedback and progressing with the development. James prefers PPH messages over any other form of communication (and strictly keeps it to PPH). This was new to me as I always preferred to discuss on Skype etc. but much to my surprise, keeping it to PPH messages was such a good way of working. It gave both parties a good record of what was previously discussed and absolute clarity on the project.
Quality of work-
I've only got an iOS development done so could only speak for that. He knows iOS like the back of his hand and he develops fast. You could share your ideas and he'd know exactly how to implement them in the most user friendly way possible. His finished work is clean, great UI and just shouts quality! I only wanted to get the MVP done but even that looks like a product well in its maturity curve.
Timeline-
100% on time. He had delivered the project on time.
Consultant and a developer-
James is not only an ace developer but he's a very good consultant as well. For an amateur entrepreneur, I got very lucky to have found James. He's the perfect guy to brainstorm with, run past your ideas and he'll see through your vision in no time and deliver better than that! He has been very understanding of the fact that I'm not a very technical person and a new start-up. He has been very patient with me in explaining everything in laymen terms. He also has a great deal of experience of working with experienced people. He loves challenges and if you have an exciting concept that you're working on, you'd be lucky if James accepts to work on it! My friend, another entrepreneur is already looking to contact James for a new project.
