Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
This is a long-term opportunity for a thoughtful, experienced and careful sales person capable of talking with procurement departments at large technically-minded companies.
Firstly, you should know that:
- All my current staff have been with me for years, because I believe in hanging on to and incentivising good people.
- If you do a good job in one thing, it is highly likely that you will get more responsibility (and pay, of course)
I want someone who is not just going to make a few phone calls, but who understands the overall value being provided, can critique sales material, and goes the extra mile. In essence, I want someone who can handle relationships, and if you can do that you will be able to collect continuing commissions higher than what you would get with a regular translation company (on top of per-hour pay).
My translation company deals with Japanese to English (90%) and E-J (10%) medical, pharmaceutical, financial and legal translation, and is very efficient at highly complex tasks which normal translation agencies are clumsy at. We have no management layers, everyone has experience in biotech, medicine and pharma, and we work quickly by getting clever people to simultaneously translate. This makes us cheaper and better than the competition. Your job is to get new clients for us.
Note: Knowledge of law, finance and medicine is an advantage - but please do not pretend you have more knowledge than you actually have, because we will find out pretty quickly.
Please explain:
1. Your experience in B2B sales and getting hold of decision-makers in as much detail as necessary to show your skills.
2. Your approach to this kind of B2B sales
Also, if you have experience in service (and particularly translation) sales, it would be a huge advantage.
I will need to speak to candidates on Skype briefly (c. 5 min) as part of the application process.
