What we're looking for and here we are now --
At stage 1, we want to build a niche as the 'goto' VR & AR training/learning specialists and it's crucial that we get the word out via thought leader content in the initial stages before we have pinned down our perfect product / market fit. There's a lot of noise out there around VR & AR in learning and development but there doesn't seem to be many companies concentrating solely on VR/AR as their main message, mostly people are mentioning it as a component/bolt on of their broader learning offering which dilutes the message and provides quite an opportunity for Absorb to lead the niche.
As we're currently testing and validating the business model we need to keep it at a higher level until it's all defined and we can build out the full marketing strategy which does mean that some of the answers below aren't yet availble or able to be answered. Perhaps our journey thus far could be used to create a story that organisations could buy into - helping them by letting them know about the pitfalls we've found and ways around them - would be interest to hear thoughts on this.
Core products & services --
Fully immersive and interactive staff training delivered through virtual reality headsets that is both affordable and scalable while providing a consistent and high quality experience with knowledge retention above any other training method.
Customers - sectors, size, roles & responsibilities --
Currently at pilot stage - NHS & The Priory Group. L&D Managers (plus a host of support roles that also should be targeted - i.e. Digital learning Design etc)
Your competition - what is the norm and the convention you are trying to disrupt --
Learning Technologies Group, Ludic Group, LearningPool, Unimersiv, Insegni, Acteon Consulting, Agylia, GoodPractice, InfoPro Learning, Kineo
We're disrupting the world of boring eLearning and expensive classroom based training.
How is current performance --
Start-up stage, pleased with the interest we have without advertising.
Business objectives - customers per month, revenue etc --
Our current objective is proving the product is correct for the market through testing with early adopters.
How do you currently market & promote yourself --
We don't - we've picked up the customers we have through previous relationships and direct messaging on linkedin.
Annual marketing budget and how would that be split --
We're bootstrapping so budgets are very tight. We need help and expect rapid growth once we've got the market fit right and will need a long term partner for when there's plenty of money to spend. Currently there's no budget allocated so open to suggestions to keep costs minimised while maximising ROI.
**Proposals from experienced organisations with proven ROI only please. Experience in L&D and/or VR would be a bonus but not essential. Reply with an outline plan of what you would look to set up to kick it all off plus duration and expected overall costs - thanks.
