WordPress site development--socially responsible start up

Looking for WordPress developers who REALLY know how to take it to the next level! We are serial entrepreneurs with a new concept for an independent news site with a few twists. Our design and functionality most look very modern, crisp and clean. We need someone to locate or develop a great WP theme, implement it for us and add special plug ins, etc., to make it sizzle. Sites we like for comparison are alternet.org, truthdig.com and other independent news sites. We're a start up so we need someone who is reasonably priced and can grow with us. We need some one who can help us beyond this one job. Our site will be an independent news site with both original content and those of others, however, it also looks to build a community of people doing good work in the areas of preventing human suffering, environmental destruction, and corruption so we want to create community as much as offering news and information. The attached files provide information on the features we are looking for--some developed now and some later--a schematic to help visually understand, and a list of "competitive" sites and what we like about them.
