Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
I am looking for a website designer, to help design my new company website. I am very passionate about my company and would like to work with someone who is equally so about their work. Although I have a very clear idea of what I want to achieve, I am also open-minded to creative suggestions. I look to work with people that have a good work ethic and care about the quality of their work. Usually, once l've found the one, they become my go-to person! Are you able to share your expertise and help my online presence? If so, I have provided a brief for you.
Website Brief
1. About the business
2. Target audience and users
3. Goals of the New site
4. Competitors
5. Look & Feel
6. Requirements and Timescale
1. About the business
Deaf Viewpoint is currently a small London based British Sign Language interpreting and translation company that offers high-quality service, without compromise, to the end client/user.
Our client base will be wide crossing all working sectors however we specialise in educational sectors and training. We will work closely with those that need us and closer with those who do not realise how much they need us. We do not want to be a company that forces its way into people's lives or businesses. Ultimately we want our clients to choose us.
Deaf Viewpoint is diverse. It does not simply follow a mainstream understanding of diversity; that people of different cultures and races work together towards a common goal. Rather we honour diversity in race and culture; in academia and training and in expertise and creativity. As professionals, we unapologetically reflect the community we serve.
Our Mission Statement includes the phrase, 'We empower. We educate. We serve.'
Deaf Viewpoint aims to collaborate with other businesses and expand its business provision. However, it will not be at the expense of lowering our values. Development and expansion start at the core of a company. Therefore by hardwiring our company’s values into the way we work, expansion will be inevitable.
Our core values are: Growth, Integrity, Advocacy & Empathy and Working Together
2. Target Audience and users
As we specialise in educational interpreting our target audience would be educational establishments from primary schools to higher education. Those (the user) who would seek our services within this sector would be Headteachers, Heads of Inclusion and diversity, Special Educational departments within councils, HR directors, Specialist leads and the like.
It is also likely that the end-user, the deaf/hearing impaired individual would contact us if they were responsible in finding their own interpreting/communication support
3. Goals of the New site
To have a strong online presence.
To build our brand
Attract new clients.
Generate leads and enquiries
To inform about services
4. Competitors, examples
For me, this website is too cluttered. I would be looking for a clean, simple look to the website that is easy to navigate. https://www.deafumbrella.com
These 3 websites are good examples of the simplicity I’d like to obtain: https://positivesigns.uk/interpreting & https://completecommunicationltd.com
https://colemanhunt.com/
Although Coleman Hunt is not a competitor, the website's bold but fresh look is something I am keen on acquiring for our company website.
5. Look & Feel
The main page will need to reflect the diversity of the business, as well as the services we provide. Users need to know that they are in the right place as soon as they arrive. The webpage needs to clearly show who we are while guiding users to the right sections of the website according to their requirements. The website needs to be clean, bold and modern. I have attached our business card, to give you an idea of the ‘feel’ I would be looking for.
Imagery
Visual imagery is important! There is nothing greater than a powerful image that speaks volumes. I am currently working with a photographer to gather the images required. I am exploring the idea of having several images on rotation towards the top of the main website page.
Once we have the images required for this project, I will be able to provide them to you. In the meantime we could use draft imagery, to help with the sizing/positioning, location etc. I love black and white imagery, so if this could be incorporated into the website design that would be great (although I am not averse to colour). It's whatever works the best scenario, I think!
Colours
The colour palette for the website is blue/navy, white, gold and black.
6. Requirements and Timescale
Using WordPress is a must.
Using a template is also acceptable.
Looking for no more than a 5-page website.
Must include the following part of our mission statement: We empower. We educate. We serve.
Website to be up and running by within 4 weeks
Look forward to working with someone great!
