Project Brief: HivePress Theme Website Design Update
Project Title:
Website Design Implementation – HivePress Theme (WordPress)
Project Summary:
I am seeking a design and development partner to implement an updated visual design for an existing WordPress website, which uses the HivePress theme. The update is based on the attached PDF design file. The new design must be implemented without compromising the existing HivePress theme functionality, plugin compatibility, or the site's current performance.
Objectives:
• Apply the new visual design to the current HivePress theme-based WordPress site.
• Ensure all core functionality, including HivePress features and plugins, remains intact and fully compatible.
• Maintain a responsive, fast-loading, and user-friendly experience.
Design Reference:
The attached PDF file outlines the following key pages and interactions:
1. Home Page (Page 1 of PDF):
o Updated layout and styling based on the design file.
o When a category is clicked from the menu or a search is performed via the search bar, results should load dynamically on the same home page without redirecting to a new page.
2. Vendor Brand Page (Page 2 & 3 of PDF):
o Clicking on a vendor logo leads to this page.
o Contains two tabs:
About Tab – Displays vendor information and branding. (See Page 2).
1. Contact Button – Opens a messaging box allowing a logged-in user to send a direct message to the vendor (in line with HivePress messaging system).
2. Media Kits – Users can access documents made available by the vendor for download.
Products Tab – Shows the vendor's listed products (see Page 3).
3. Vendor Product Page (Page 4 of PDF):
o Clicking on a product or post from the vendor page or homepage leads to the Product Detail Page (PDP).
o Must include:
Related Products – Displayed on the right-hand side showing other products from that vendor.
Similar Products – Displayed at the bottom of the page, showing similar products from other vendors.
Functional Requirements:
• The HivePress theme must not be modified in a way that breaks its existing functionality or upgrade path.
• All current HivePress-compatible plugins must continue to function correctly post-design implementation.
• Dynamic filtering and search should remain AJAX-based on the homepage, without reloading the page or redirecting to a new one.
• The messaging feature must use HivePress’s existing messaging system where applicable.
• The media kit dropdown on the PDP must support file downloads for logged-in users and be manageable by the vendor from their dashboard.
Deliverables:
• Full implementation of the attached design in the live site environment.
• Clean and maintainable code that adheres to WordPress and HivePress best practices.
• A backup or child theme setup, if required, to preserve the base HivePress theme.
• Thorough QA testing across major browsers and devices.
• Documentation (if applicable) for custom implementations.
Timeline:
Looking for a delivery within 2-3 weeks.

-
Do you already have a child theme in place or should I set one up as part of this update?
-
Questions:
Will you be providing the design assets separately (fonts, icons, etc.)?
Are there any third-party caching or security plugins active I should be aware of?
Should I work directly on staging or live?
