Logo needed for photographer

I'm setting up a photography business, I have had a go at designing my own logo and it's ok but it seems to lack something. I don't know what that something is, which is where you step in. I need a logo that really makes a statement about my photography, I am hoping to specialise in baby portraits and family portraits, was thinking about using the colours of the rainbow, or the colours from those primary colour wheels. I am on a very tight budget as I'm a startup company. I really need a logo that can be condenced into a stamp to use as a copyright logo on my photos.

As most of you are asking the same questions, I thought I would update my description.

I have a website ( to be given to the successful bidder), it is not finished yet as I am doing it myself, the black background will remain although the layout may change.

I have uploaded some of my photos on the website gallery. I've tried to upload them here and can't for some reason.

Could you please give a brief description of what you would do to my logo in your bid as I'm finding it very hard to make a decision based on other work, a lot of previous logos seem to have a corporate feel and I want something that is a little less formal but will not put off anyone wanting wedding photography too.....making sence??
