Logo Design Job. Needs to be corporate but also "badass!!"

Information for the business: It is for a group of digital marketing people
Industry: Internet/Software
Brand name/slogan in logo: The Geek Cartel
Ideas for the visual style: Needs to be simple but striking and needs to contain the wording
Where the design will be used: will be used on a website initially but also business cards and other stationary
Extra notes: I want something that has wording and some sort of symbol or picture etc so that it can be recognised with or without the wording. Please no generic gifs. I can do that!!! please don't forget that the name is strong so should lead the idea
