Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: We are looking to start an independent book publishing company.
Industry: Publishing/Journalism
Type of logo: Word mark, Pictorial mark, Emblem, Character
Brand name/slogan in logo: Fine Chap
Ideas for the visual style: I really like single line drawings (where the whole image is drawn with one continuous line) but am really open to your ideas.
Preferred colors: Should be clear in black and white but can also have a coloured option.
Where the design will be used: Website, book spines, inside cover
Extra notes: I am looking to start an indepent publishing company with the name "Fine Chap" or "Fine Chap Publishing" or "Fine Chap Independent Publishers" something around that at least (Maybe the words independent publisher in smaller print underneath). The name comes, obviously, from the image of a fine English gentlemen but also draws on the fact that our first publications will be in the form of chapbooks. Small (40ish pages) paperback books.
I would like maybe a pictorial logo which could stand alone but was also able to be integrated into a larger logo containing the full name. As the books will be printed in black and white it must be clear when printed like this however it will also be on the website where colour is obviously OK. Outside of that I don't really have any musts and am open to your ideas. The idea I have in my head at the moment is a single (continuous) line drawing of a "chap" possibly reading a book. This line could maybe then extend from the image to write the company name. I am sure you guys will have much more creative ideas though so feel free to do your own thing.
